19th International Symposium on Chromaffin Cell Biology

Sheffield, GB

Attendance type(s): In Person

Event Dates: 22—26 Aug 2017

This biennial conference aims to bring together scientific leaders and trainees from around the globe with a common interest in research based in adrenal chromaffin cells and the physiological processes they regulate. It will address the most recent advances in molecular mechanisms of regulated exocytosis, secretory vesicle synthesis, and the receptors, ion channels and signalling pathways controlling catecholamine secretion in health and disease. From single molecule imaging of proteins regulating vesicle fusion to physiological analysis of sophisticated animal models of synaptopathies, research in chromaffin cells has been at the forefront of classical discoveries in neuroscience. This highly interactive conference brings together biophysicists, biochemists, cell biologists and neuroscientists with an extraordinary breadth of technical expertise to discuss recent advances in a variety of topics made possible through research in these model cells. With its strong tradition for friendly debate amongst friends old and new and thought provoking insight gained from comparisons made with other neuronal systems, the conference provides a platform for some of the most exciting developments seen in the field.
