Description:
The Institute of Physiology I of the Albrecht-Ludwigs-University Freiburg is seeking to fill the position of a research associate in the working group ‘Systemic and Cellular Neurophysiology’ as soon as possible. The position is initially limited to 3 years and will be paid according to TV-L 13 if the legal requirements are met.
The research focus of the group is the function of GABAergic cells in the processing of information in hippocampal neuronal networks using in vivo recordings of single neuronal units and population activity, in vivo and in vitro 2P imaging in single cells as well as populations of neurons, in vitro whole cell recordings and optogenetic techniques.
Your profile:
- -You have completed a Master or PhD in Engineering or Computer Science with above average results.
- High interest in neuroscientific data.
- Excellent knowledge in programming and data processing based on Python, MatLab, Caiman (etc.)
- Experience in signal processing and analysis (imaging data, electrophysiological data).
- Very good experience in the development of machine learning models.
- Excellent experience in statistical applications.
- Solid communication in the English language.
- Research experience.
- You are characterised by a high degree of interdisciplinary thinking.
Your task:
- Development and application of pipelines for the processing and analysis of electrophysiological and imaging data.
- Application of the developed algorithms to decipher the relationship between behaviour and neuronal population activity.
