COFUND PhD fellowship (Light In Paris) in neuroscience and super-resolution microscopy
Position: Ph.D. Student
Deadline: 26 March 2025
Employment Start Date: 1 October 2025
Contract Length: 3 years
City: Le Kremlin-Bicêtre / Paris
Country: France
Institution: Université Paris-Saclay
Department: Inserm U1195, DHNS
Description:
Synuclein diffusion analysis in neurons using event-based super-resolution microscopy.
We are seeking a motivated candidate for a three-year PhD project funded by the European COFUND programme LightInParis. The objective is to study the mobility of alpha-synuclein in neurons in order to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying its aggregation in the context of neurodegenerative pathologies. The description of these mechanisms will rely on the use of event-based super-resolution microscopy. The thesis is co-supervised by Christian Specht (DHNS, Inserm, Université Paris-Saclay, Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, France), Ignacio Izeddin and Clément Cabriel (Institut Langevin, ESPCI Paris, Université PSL, CNRS, Paris, France). The starting date of the fellowship is the 1st October 2025.
Host institutes:
DHNS (Inserm / Université Paris-Saclay), Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, France
Institut Langevin (ESPCI Paris / PSL University / CNRS), Paris, France
