Position Description:

A Postdoctoral Associate position is available at The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation &Technology in Jupiter, Florida. The work will be focused on unraveling molecular, cellular and behavioral mechanisms underlying function of G Protein Coupled Receptor (GPCR) signaling pathways and understanding their role in nervous system function and neuropsychiatric disease. Potential projects include:

Neurobiological mechanisms underlying synaptic connectivity and circuit function

Development and behavioral characterization of mouse models of neurological and psychiatric illness Development and use of optical sensors to understand neuromodulation

Molecular and cellular mechanisms of GPCR signaling and trafficking Genetic and proteomic screens to identify novel GPCR regulators.

Structural basis of receptor signaling and drug discovery

Details of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.

Minimum Requirements

Must possess a doctoral degree. A pending doctoral degree will be considered with approval of the Principal Investigator.

Expected Salary

Commensurate with experience.

Basic Qualifications and application instructions:

PhD degree in biomedical sciences is required as well as evidence of published scholarly work. A pending doctoral degree will also be considered.
