Description:

We are looking to hire a motivated PhD  candidate in our team to work on a project investigating the crosstalk between sleep and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Our objective is to determine the state of the neuronal network responsible for sleep in a transgenic mice model of ALS.

Activities: To adress this important question, we will use a combination of in vivo electrophysiology (EEG/LFP) combined with whole brain mapping of cFos, a marker of neuronal activation and different neurotransmitter markers.

Compétences (skills): The successful candidate must have MSc in life science (Biology, Neuroscience or equivalent) with excellent marks and TOP 10-20% ranking, good English communication skills.  Previous EU/France recognized certified experience with surgeries in rodents (electrodes implantation, EEG/LFP recordings).  Skill to analyse data using Python is an important advantage.
