Description:
We are looking for a Master’s student in medicine, neuroscience, medical engineering, biological engineering, or related field with an interest in neuroscience, biological medicine and cognitive neurology for a 12 month internship, starting from January 2025 (negotiable) at the Department of Neuroscience, IRCCS Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research (Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri IRCCS) and Polytechnic University of Milan (Politecnico di Milano) in Milan Italy.
What’s the project about?
This project will focus on the molecular mechanisms of circadian dysfunction in neurodegeneration, especially in Alzheimer’s disease and Huntington’s disease. You will work closely with neuroscientists using advanced in vitro neurodegenerative disease models (iPSC, organoids, 3D models, organ-on-a-chip, etc.) to clarify the underlying molecular mechanisms by using cutting-edge techniques. You will be able to work in both the Department of Neuroscience at the IRCCS Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research and the Department of Chemistry, Materials, and Chemical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Milan.
