The laboratory of Prof. Antoine Adamantidis in the Department of Neurology at the University of Bern is seeking for a motivated postdoctoral fellow to work in the field of sleep neurophysiology, synaptic plasticity and behavior. The project aims at mapping brain activity during sleep and behavior at single cell resolution and follow previous works form the lab  (see Nature 2007; Nat. Neurosci. 2013, 2016, 2018; and Science 2016, 2022).

The Tidis Lab is located in the Zentrum für Experimentelle Neurologie (ZEN) from the Department of Neurology, University of Bern at the Inselspital University Hospital, Switzerland. The ZEN is a research center developing a unique translational environment supported by strong interactions between clinical and experimental laboratories with a long expertise in sleep, epilepsy and stroke.

To further strengthen our collaborative group, we are looking for a candidate with a recent doctoral degree (PhD) in neuroscience, neurobiology, neuro/bio-engineering and evidence of publication history in any of those fields.  Applicants should have previous experience in 2P in vivo calcium imaging, optogenetics, and behavioral analysis (e.g., sleep, instrumental learning, reward, fear learning, etc.). Experience with signals analysis (calcium imaging) and computer programming (Matlab, Python, Spike, C++,…) is a strong asset. Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work independently and together with a highly collaborative research team, as well as aptitude to mentor graduate students are also necessary attributes.
