Description:

The Cologne Graduate School of Ageing Research (CGA) in Germany is a joint venture of the University of Cologne Excellence Cluster on Stress Responses in Aging-Associated Diseases (CECAD), the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing and the Max Planck Institute for Metabolism Research. We offer up to 12 fully funded Ph.D. positions to highly motivated and talented students. The structured Ph.D. training programme will start on an individual basis between July 1 and October 1, 2025. The initial working contract includes social benefits and security and is limited to three years.

We are looking for

  • Highly qualified and motivated students holding an MSc or equivalent degree in Biology, Cell/Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Genetics, Medical Biology, Translational Medicine or a related field
  • Students who have already demonstrated their motivation, interest and qualification for the above research areas by achieving very good grades in their BSc and MSc studies
  • Candidates with very good English skills (C1 level, written and spoken)
