Description:

We are searching for a motivated postdoctoral researcher who is facinating about brain function! Our  aim is to enlighten the mechanisms of stress-related psychiatric disorders. For this, we want – together with you – to decipher the long-term mechanisms underlying early-life stress, with a focus on glial cells.

What you will do:

Contribute with your scientific research knowledge in the field of stress-induced psychiatric disorders and neuropsychopharmacology

Plan, conduct and evaluate animal experiments using rodent models to investigate the effects of stress, including behavior studies, pharmacological manipulations and surgical interventions.

Expand and deepen your scientific research through national and international collaborations, while actively contributing to publications and independent projects.

Supervise students and contribute to teaching activities of the University of Marburg to promote the next generation of neuroscientists

What you need to have:

Your academic background should be a PhD in Biology, Pharmacy, Neuroscience, Human Biology, Medicine or in a related field.

You have already research expertise with aniamls (FELASA certificate or equivalent) and significant knowledge in working with laboratory rodents. Experience with animal models for stress, use of pharmacological manipulation and stereotactic interventions in connection with affective disorder models are an advantage. Ideally, this experience has been confirmed by peer reviewed publications.

You have good laboratory skills and experience in microscopy and molecular techniques

Proficiency in statistics and experience with statistical software are needed for this position.

A high level of motivation, the ability to work in a team, organizational skill and the readiness to take on responsibilities.

Excellent English communication skills and the knowledge of German
