Postdoc on Brain Organoid Models of Neurodevelopmental disorders

Position: Post-doctoral Position

Deadline: 14 October 2024

City: Karlsruhe

Country: Germany

Institution: Karlsruhe Institute of Technology

Department: Systemic Cellular Neurobiology

Description:

Are you interested in understanding how genetic and environmental factors contribute to disease emergence by dysregulating human brain development? We are an ambitious and creative team addressing such research questions in human brain organoids.

The working language in the group and institute is English and we welcome international applicants. We offer scientific and personal development opportunities. With us, you will also have the chance to learn image and omics data analysis in an international cutting-edge setting through the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Neuroscience Network. In the field of bioengineering, we are ideally placed as part of the Excellence Cluster 3D Matter Made to Order.

We are looking for a molecular biologist / biochemist / computational biologist (PhD) who will enhance our stem cell and brain organoid cultures and analyze molecular and cellular disease phenotypes using diverse readouts. These include transcriptomic and proteomic profiling as well as high-end microscopy. The ideal candidate combines a passion for developmental neuroscience and an eagerness to learn new methods to answer challenging research questions. CRISPR-Cas genome editing skills are desirable.
