YOUR TEAM

You’d be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where biomedical, materials and physics engineers, material scientists, physicists, chemists, biotechnologists and biologists collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.The Nanomaterials for Energy and Lifescience Research line is coordinated by Prof. Guglielmo Lanzani who has extensive experience in the photophysics of organic molecules and semiconductors for application in energy and life science. The research focuses on developing a technology for modulating cell activity with light. This includes the design, realization, characterization and testing of new nano-traducers that absorb light and transform it into bio electricity for cell stimulation. Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Manage the electrophysiology labs and carry out electrophysiological experiments;
  • Be involved in the cell culture facility;
  • Be a reference in the group for biology, supporting the PhD students and other postdocs;

This open position is financed by the Italian Science Fund, according to founding scheme Advanced Grant within the “LENTE – Light-drivEN muscle TissuE” project.

 WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU SHINE

  • A PhD in STEM disciplines, including Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials science and similar disciplines
  • Documented experience on cell handling and electrophysiology
  • Documented experience in coaching junior scientists
  • Good command in spoken and written English
  • Diverse background that includes and integrate biology with biophysics and materials science
