Description:
The Collaborative Research Centre IN-CODE is seeking highly motivated PhD students for 13 exciting projects in the field of Neuroscience.
IN-CODE is a new Collaborative Research Centre between the University of Freiburg, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany. Our international teams will allow for collaborative work to obtain multidisciplinary insights into the role of inhibition in the control and encoding of information in local circuits and complex brain functions. Exploring the varied morphologies, properties, and connectivities of interneurons, and understanding their role in dynamically adapting the network to changing computational demands, we aim to uncover fundamental insights into how interneurons influence the shaping of cortical population codes.
The chosen PhD students will be based either in Freiburg or Berlin, enrolling in the respective local graduate schools, SGBM (Spemann graduate school of Biology and Medizine) in Freiburg or ECN (Einstein Center for Neurosciences) in Berlin. Additionally, they will have access to the qualification program provided by the entire network.”
